二〇年ごのわたし

二十年後のわたしはおかねがたくさんあります。おっとがひとりとこどもがふたりあります。じぶんのかいしゃがあります。いつもとてもいそがしいです。ときどきかいこくへりょこうをします。同時に、本をかきます。そして、わたしはハーバードだいがくでべんきょうします。れきしとせいじがくをべんきょうします。そのご、だいがくでおしえます。

麒麟

せんしゅうのにほんごのクラスにかんじをべんきょうしました。「麒麟」のprounciation はきりんですね。そして、writing of this wordはむずかしいですね。I first learned this word form a Japanese anime called "Twelve kingdoms"「十二国記」。According to it, 麒麟はthe protector of the kingdom and the king、once 麒麟gets sick, it means the king has done something wrong, and soon he/she will lose his/her 「天命」ーmandate of heaven. That will lead the kingdom into chaos. このあにめはとてもおもしろいです。I didn't like the main female character at first, but as the story goes, I  like her more and more. There's also a novel version, but I haven't got a chance to read it yet. Maybe after this semester I can try to read this novel in Japanese.
Anyway, in China, 麒麟is also a type of mythical animal. It is a symbol for good luck and happiness. So, I was very surprised to know that 麒麟 also means giraffe in Japanese.

わたしのスケジュール
わたしはまいあさろくじにおきます。あさごはんをたべません。しちじにとしょかんへいきます。じゅういちじに、Jazz classへいきます。ごごいちじからにじはんまでにほんごをべんきょします。それから、Ballet classへいきます。ごごよじにCorporate Financeへいきます。ごごごじはんにばんごはんをたべます。それから、としょかんへいきます。ごごじゅういちじにひとりであるいてかえります。じゅういちはんからごぜんにじまでべんきょします。ごぜんにじはんにねます。にちようびにうちでやすみます。どこへもいきません、なにもしません。わたしのせいがつはたいへんですね。

Why do I study Japanese?

When I was in primary school, I loved watching Japanese animations and comics. My favorite animations are Sailor Moon, Slam Dunk, Cooking Master Boy, and Naruto. (Please feel free to post any comments if you also like those animations : ) )The characters in those animations were my childhood idols, and since then I have been very into Japanese culture, arts, music and language. By the way, my favorite cartoonist is CLAMP while my favorite J-pop stars are Ayumi Hamazaski and Fukada Kyoto.

I decide to taking Japanese language course in my senior year so that I can have enough time to study it. After taking Japanese for a few weeks, I think this is a very beautiful language - not only the pronunciation but also the writing system. Speaking of writing system, it is very challenging for me because they have three forms - hiragana, katakana and Kanji. Maybe, Japan has assimilated and mixed both eastern and western culture, so they have specific forms for specific language and terms. This sometimes confused me. But I believe after I complete this course, I will be fine with the writing system.
